WRITING: Any and all types of writing are welcome. Short stories, prose poetry, traditional poetry, blackout poetry, creative accounts of your life and experiences, essays about yourself, essays about what you love, plays, scripts, letters, lists, rants, lyrics, journal writing, dream writing, ALL writing.
I was curious though, how exactly are the winning essays and semi-finalists chosen for the teen writing contests? After meticulous observation, I have read many brilliant essays that have very complex thoughts, advanced language, and simmering with creativity and style while fully responding to the prompt in a well-written manner which were not chosen as finalists.
Submissions General Overview. Unlike many magazines, Creative Nonfiction draws heavily from unsolicited submissions. Our editors believe that providing a platform for emerging writers and helping them find readers is an essential role of literary magazines, and it’s been our privilege to work with many fine writers early in their careers.
